What I Built
The Eco-Worthy 12.8V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery arrived well-packaged with essential accessories, including terminal covers and screws. Its compact design features recessed handles, making it surprisingly manageable despite its weight. A clear LED readout on top displays state of charge (SOC) and critical alerts like high/low temperature, overcurrent (OCP), and BMS faults. The transparent approach extends to a detailed data sheet printed directly on the battery, listing its 200A BMS with a 240A peak surge rating. They even include temperature-sensitive stickers to monitor terminal heat, a thoughtful safety addition.
An internal "anti-swelling fixture"—a hard frame compression system—is designed to prevent cell swelling from overcharging or aging, aiming to extend battery cycle life by 30%.
Why It Works
The Eco-Worthy battery utilizes LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) chemistry, valued for its stability, long cycle life, and inherent safety. This makes it a robust choice for DIY solar and home energy storage. The integrated Battery Management System (BMS) actively safeguards against overcharging, over-discharging, overcurrent, and extreme temperatures. The internal anti-swelling fixture further enhances longevity by preventing cell expansion. Crucially, the BMS includes low-temperature charging protection, preventing damage from charging below freezing, as my tests confirmed. Bluetooth connectivity and the user-friendly app provide real-time monitoring of voltage, current, power, and individual cell health—all without needing an account.

Math & Run-Time Numbers
I rigorously tested the Eco-Worthy battery's capacity and performance. For the Capacity Test, a 0.2C discharge rate (around 61-66A or 810-820W) yielded an impressive 315Ah, exceeding its 300Ah rating before the BMS low-voltage cutoff. This over-delivery is always a welcome sight in real-world testing.
In Heavy Load Testing, connected to a 3000W low-frequency inverter, the battery sustained draws up to 270-317A (peaking at 3829W) before the BMS tripped. Note that a 0V charger was required to reset the BMS.
Surge Testing showed limitations with a 15,000 BTU portable AC unit (BMS tripped) but successfully started a pancake air compressor. During Cold Weather Charging, after a night in the freezer, the battery correctly rejected charge with a "Low Temp" warning, confirming vital protection against charging below 0°C.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Exceeds Rated Capacity: Delivered 315Ah in testing, surpassing the advertised 300Ah.
- Compact Size: High capacity packed into a relatively small footprint, offering excellent power density.
- Robust Safety Features: Integrated BMS with overcurrent, over/under voltage, and high/low temperature protection.
- Temperature Monitoring: Includes color-changing stickers for visual terminal temperature alerts.
- Anti-Swelling Fixture: Internal hard frame compression system designed to extend cell life.
- Bluetooth App Control: Easy monitoring of battery parameters without needing a user account.
- Recessed Handles: Convenient and practical for portability.
Cons:
- Manual BMS Reset: Requires an external 0V charger to reactivate the BMS after an overcurrent shutdown, which isn't ideal for seamless operation.
- Limited Heavy Surge: BMS quickly cuts off for very high inductive loads like large air conditioners without soft start.
- Reusable Temp Stickers: While a pro for inclusion, they don't provide historical temperature data if you aren't actively monitoring them.
When To Use This vs. Alternatives
This Eco-Worthy 12.8V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery is an excellent choice for homeowners and tinkerers needing reliable, high-capacity power in a compact form. It's ideal for RVs, off-grid setups, or home backup, offering more usable capacity, longer lifespan, and lighter weight than lead-acid options. Compared to other budget LiFePO4s, its transparent data, included temperature stickers, and anti-swelling fixture add confidence. However, for frequent, extremely high-surge inductive loads (like large AC units without soft start), a battery with a higher peak surge or more forgiving BMS might be needed. For most uses, its performance and safety are compelling.
Bottom Line
Eco-Worthy has truly delivered an outstanding product with their 12.8V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery. It not only met but exceeded its advertised capacity, showcased impressive safety features, and packed it all into a remarkably compact design. While the BMS requires a manual reset after an overcurrent event, this is a minor inconvenience when weighed against its overall performance and value. For anyone building or upgrading a 12V energy storage system, this battery offers a compelling blend of power, safety, and convenience.
