Math & Run-Time Numbers
My testing revealed impressive real-world performance:
- Capacity Test: I discharged the battery at approximately 19 amps (a 0.2C rate) until it shut down. The Victron SmartShunt recorded a total consumed capacity of 105.1Ah, exceeding its rated 100Ah capacity. This test took roughly 5 hours to complete.
- Charging Time: Using the included 18A charger, the battery went from 0% to 100% state of charge in 6 hours, 35 minutes, and 12.98 seconds. During bulk charging, my Anker power station indicated an output of around 972 watts to the charger.
- Heavy Load Test: I put the battery through its paces with demanding loads, including an electric heat gun, a space heater, and a 15,000 BTU portable air conditioner. The SmartShunt showed currents peaking at around 80 amps (approximately 4100 watts) when the AC unit surged, and settling around 68-70 amps (around 3500 watts) with all three running.
