The main enclosure is a solid black metal box with a well-designed front panel featuring robust positive and negative terminals, a substantial circuit breaker, an on/off switch, and various communication ports (RS485-1 CAN, RS232, RS485-2). Inside, the enclosure includes insulating boards, foam spacers for the cells, flexible copper busbars, and two PCB boards for cell balancing and temperature sensing. The integrated BMS is a JK BMS, known for its active balancing capabilities and programmability.

Math & Run-Time Numbers
After assembling the battery, I performed several tests to verify its performance. Initial voltage checks confirmed all 16 cells were healthy, reading around 3.27V. When connected in a 4S configuration, the two 24V strings measured 26.22V and 26.24V respectively. Once wired for 48V, the overall pack voltage was 52.4V.
For the capacity test, I fully charged the battery to 100% (54.54V) and then discharged it through various power stations connected to my EG4 inverter, monitoring the process with a Victron SmartShunt. The battery delivered an impressive 319Ah, slightly exceeding its rated 314Ah capacity. This translated to 16.5kWh of usable energy. The BMS performed as expected, initiating high-voltage protection during charging and low-voltage protection during discharge, shutting off power when the cells reached their minimum safe voltage.
